How does the Icon laser tighten skin?
Laser treatments are a valid alternative to people who aren’t ready to go into surgery for a facelift but want to look more youthful and lifted. The Icon laser is appropriate for most skin types, including very light and very dark skin.
The fractional energy of the Icon laser causes existing collagen to break down. Your skin responds by rebuilding and renewing cells to yield stronger skin with a smoother texture.
The laser delivers pulses of energy to the skin around your eyes, full face, and neck -- areas that commonly show the signs of aging due to sun exposure and the natural effects of time. You end up with beautifully resurfaced skin that has fewer creases and wrinkles as well as less crepiness.
How many treatments will I need to see tighter skin?
To achieve optimal results, Dr. Cellucci recommends up to three sessions scheduled 1-2 months apart. You’ll notice results about 2-4 months following treatment. It takes a little time because your body needs to rebuild collagen and regenerate fresh skin cells.
What should I expect during a skin-tightening treatment?
You arrive at Jeuvani Spa and Sculpting about 30 minutes prior to your treatment time so that we can apply a topical anesthetic that reduces sensation and makes the session more tolerable. You may also benefit from taking over-the-counter pain medication, such as Tylenol, prior to your laser session.
You’ll experience some discomfort during the session, but if it becomes intolerable, Jeuvani’s staff can decrease the settings. Your comfort is the top priority. Right after the treatment, the team applies cool compresses to soothe your skin.
What should I expect after treatment?
Following skin-tightening treatments with the Icon laser, your skin feels warm and will have scattered, red circular spots. These remain for a few hours but resolve by the next day. You can return to work the day after treatment. Dr. Cellucci provides you with a comprehensive post-treatment plan so you get optimal results and comfort with at-home healing.
